Privacy Policy

Read Localith's Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data and business information.

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Localith collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the platform at localith.ai.

Last updated: October 2026.

Data we collect

  • Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and organization details. If you connect a Google account, we access your Google Business Profile data as authorized by you.
  • Usage data: We collect information about how you use the platform, including pages visited, features used, and actions taken. This helps us improve the product.
  • Device and browser data: Standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and device type. This is used for security, debugging, and analytics.

How we use your data

  • To provide and operate the Localith platform, including managing your Google Business Profiles, generating AI review replies, and producing analytics reports.
  • To communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support requests.
  • To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal data for money. We share data with service providers that help us operate the platform, such as hosting infrastructure, email delivery, and payment processing. On our website, we also send data to the analytics providers and the advertising partners (OpenAI and Google) described in the next section, which also explains how to opt out.

When you connect your Google account, data flows between Localith and Google according to Google's API Terms of Service. Localith accesses only the data you authorize.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the platform.

Analytics and advertising on our website

This section covers the marketing website at localith.ai: which analytics and advertising tools run there, when they run, and how to turn them off.

Tools we use

  • PostHog (product analytics, hosted in the EU and loaded through our own address g.localith.ai): measures page views and clicks on buttons such as the free trial button. Without a cookie, it counts visits with an anonymous identifier that changes every day. When analytics is allowed (see below), it sets a first-party cookie on localith.ai that the Localith app also reads, so that a visit to the website and a later signup can be connected.
  • Localith's own visit counter (run on Cloudflare, our hosting provider): counts page views, and how often buttons such as the free trial button are shown and clicked, so that we can improve our pages. It sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser, and sends no identifier, so the counts cannot be linked to you or to each other. It records the page, the button, the domain of the website you came from, campaign tags in the link, your country, and whether you use a phone, tablet, or computer. It does not store your IP address. Because it cannot identify you, it runs for every visitor.
  • OpenAI Ads measurement pixel: tells OpenAI when a visitor who may have come from one of our ChatGPT ads clicks to start a trial, book a demo, or contact us, so we can measure how our advertising performs. OpenAI may set its own identifiers for this.
  • Google Analytics (Google Analytics 4): measures page views, traffic sources, and interactions with the website. It sets first-party cookies on localith.ai with a random identifier.
  • Google Ads tag: tells Google when a visitor who came from one of our Google ads visits the website, so we can measure how our advertising performs. Google may set its own identifiers for this.
  • Attribution cookie (lc_attr): our own first-party cookie on localith.ai. It records how you first arrived on the website, the pages you viewed, and the last page you viewed, so that the Localith app can connect a signup to the pages that led to it. If you came from one of our Google or Microsoft ads, it also keeps the ad click identifier, so that we can report the signup to that ad platform. It holds no name or email address, follows the analytics rules described below (the ad click follows the marketing rules), and is kept for 90 days after your last visit.

We do not record your screen or use session replay on localith.ai.

  • European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: none of these tools sets a cookie or identifier until you accept it in the cookie banner. Until then, PostHog only counts visits without cookies.
  • Everywhere else, including the United States: analytics and the advertising tags run by default when you visit, and you can turn them off at any time as described below.
  • Location unknown: if we cannot determine your country, we treat you as a visitor from the European Economic Area.

We determine your country from your IP address through our hosting provider, Cloudflare, only to apply these rules. The result is kept in your browser for the current session and is not stored on our servers.

Your choice in the cookie banner always takes precedence over these defaults.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) and similar US state laws, sending information to OpenAI and Google through their advertising tags may count as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time:

  • Use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer of any page on localith.ai. It takes effect immediately. It also turns off the default analytics described above, unless you have accepted analytics in the cookie banner.
  • Choose "Reject all" in the cookie banner, or open "Cookie Settings" in the footer and turn off marketing cookies.
  • Email us at support@localith.ai.

Your choice is saved in your browser. If you clear your browser data, use another browser or device, or your browser blocks website storage, you need to make the choice again.

Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information: the advertising tags do not load and analytics do not run by default, wherever you are. If you later accept cookies in our cookie banner, we follow that choice on this website.

Your rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You can also object to or restrict certain processing activities. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@localith.ai. We will respond within 30 days.

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Data security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your data.

Localith Google Workspace Add-on

This section describes how the Localith Reviews Sync add-on for Google Workspace handles your data. It applies only when you install and use the Localith add-on within Google Sheets.

Data we access

When you use the Localith Reviews Sync add-on, it requests the following permissions from your Google account:

  • View and manage spreadsheets that this application has been installed in (spreadsheets.currentonly): used solely to write your Localith review data into the active Google Sheet you have open. The add-on cannot access any other spreadsheet in your Google Drive.
  • Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars inside Google applications (script.container.ui): used to display the add-on's user interface (the sidebar where you connect your account and choose what to sync).
  • Connect to an external service (script.external_request): used solely to communicate with the Localith API to retrieve your reviews and listings data.
  • Allow this application to access user-set application locale (script.locale): used to display the add-on interface in your preferred language.

Data we collect and store

The Localith add-on:

  • Does not transmit your spreadsheet content to Localith servers. All data written to your sheet stays in your Google account.
  • Does not store the contents of your spreadsheets on Localith servers at any time.
  • Stores your Localith API key only in Google's per-user property storage (PropertiesService.getUserProperties), which is encrypted at rest by Google and accessible only to your own Google account. This API key is transmitted to Localith only for authentication and is never stored on Localith servers.

The data the add-on retrieves from the Localith API (your reviews, listings, and metrics) is data you have already provided to Localith through your Localith account, governed by the rest of this Privacy Policy.

How we use your data

The data accessed by the add-on is used solely to provide the syncing functionality you have requested, pulling your Localith review data into the Google Sheet you select. We do not use add-on data for any other purpose, including advertising, profiling, or sharing with third parties.

Compliance with Google API Services User Data Policy

The Localith Google Workspace Add-on's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data retention and deletion

  • Your Localith API key is stored on Google's servers (in your account) until you choose to disconnect from the add-on, at which point it is deleted.
  • You can disconnect the add-on at any time by opening the sidebar and clicking "Disconnect" or by uninstalling the add-on from your Google account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
